Credit reporting agencies have agreed to be more conscientious in fixing credit report errors and to wait longer before including unpaid medical bills in reports and credit scores.

The three big credit reporting agencies have agreed to make some changes. In the face of investigations over the past year led by Attorneys General from New York, Mississippi and Ohio representing 25 other states, Experian, Equifax and TransUnion have agreed to be more conscientious in fixing credit report errors and to wait longer before including unpaid medical bills in reports and credit scores.
