The program offers up to 25% of student loan debt repayment and includes annual limits of $50,000 for psychiatrists and $20,000 for psychologists, LPCs, and LCSWs. Applicants must commit to serving for a minimum of two years at an approved site.

Income-Driven Repayment Plans

An income-driven repayment (IDR) plan is a federal student loan repayment plan that sets your monthly payment based on your income and household size rather than the amount you owe. These plans can make payments more affordable and may offer loan forgiveness after a certain period. Payments are usually capped at 10-20% of your discretionary income and extend repayment over 20-25 years. 

Loan Rehabilitation & Consolidation

For borrowers in default, loan rehabilitation and consolidation can return loans to good standing, reinstate eligibility for federal student aid, and remove the default status from their credit reports. Loan rehabilitation involves making a series of agreed-upon monthly payments to bring the loan out of default, while consolidation combines multiple loans into a single loan with a new repayment term.
