Matthew D. Hawkins joined the Boleman Law Firm in 2023. He was admitted to the Virginia State Bar in 2017. Matthew practices primarily in the firm’s Richmond office, where he regularly meets with clients and helps to guide them through the bankruptcy process.
Raised in upstate New York, Matthew graduated from St. John Fisher University with a B.A. in Political Science and Legal Studies. After his undergraduate studies, Matthew moved to Richmond to attend the T.C. Williams School of Law, at the University of Richmond. While in law school, Matthew interned for the Boleman Law Firm and was a judicial intern for the Honorable Frank W. Volk, former Chief Judge of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of West Virginia, now a United States district judge. Before joining Boleman, Matthew worked for the Virginia Department of Taxation as a tax policy analyst and was in house counsel for a mortgage and real estate company.
Matthew currently lives in Richmond’s Church Hill neighborhood with his two dogs. In his free time, he enjoys the outdoors, golf, live music, and local restaurants and breweries.
