Trenya, a native of North Carolina, graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with a dual Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Afro-American Studies. Upon graduation in 2001, she worked at UNC-CH as a legal assistant with Carolina Student Legal Services. She received her Juris Doctorate from Washington and Lee University School of Law in May 2005.

Prior to joining Boleman Law Firm in 2008, Trenya worked with a consumer bankruptcy law firm in Alexandria, VA serving clients in both Northern and Central Virginia.
 
Trenya’s professional memberships include: the Virginia State Bar, the Virginia Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, the Northern VA Bankruptcy Bar, and the Corporate Counsel for Women of Color. She is admitted to practice in the Virginia Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia, and the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
